The main feature of this tour will be the discover of the magnificent baroque towns of the Province of Noto. Surprisingly, the existence of their distinctive buildings is due to a catastrophe \u2013 the devastating earthquake of 1693. As if wanting to challenge the destruction itself, the cities were rebuilt in the most beautiful baroque style, and their honey-coloured sandstone buildings keep shining even now. During this tour, we will explore the opulent beauty of the baroque landscape.<\/p>

Day 1: Arrival in Catania \u2013 Noto Area<\/strong><\/p>

Arrival in the Catania airport. We will pick you up with our bus and will be heading south, near Noto, where our accommodation awaits. If we have time before dinner, we will take a walk through the streets of Noto. Overnight stay.<\/p>

Day 2: Modica and Noto<\/strong><\/p>

Today we will head to the capital city of Sicilian baroque: Noto. Take a walk through the magnificent streets, surrounded by immensely decorated buildings. For lunch, we will savour Sicilian delicacies.<\/p>

We will then go to Modica, a city famous for its chocolate production, prepared following an ancient recipe with very few ingredients. The historical centre of this city is truly outstanding.<\/p>

Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.<\/p>

Day 3: Siracusa and Marzamemi<\/strong><\/p>

We will have two highlights on today\u2019s program: Siracusa and Marzamemi, the latter being way less famous than the former, but not less wonderful.<\/p>

In the morning, our route will take us to Siracusa, once considered the most powerful Sicilian city of Magna Grecia. It was founded in 734 BC, and Cicero once praised it as the most beautiful city in all Ancient Greece. Here, you can admire the Archaeological Park with its Greek Theatre, Hieron\u2019s Altar, Roman Amphitheatre and the famous Ear of Dionysus<\/em>.<\/p>

Your senses will be struck during a stroll through the picturesque historic centre, located in the Ortygia peninsula. We will stumble upon Apollo\u2019s Doric temple and we will visit the cathedral, built upon the remains of the Greek temple of Athena, near the Aretusa<\/em> spring. In Siracusa we will take a break to have lunch.<\/p>

In the afternoon, we will head towards Marzamemi. It is highly probable that you have never heard about this place, but do not be deceived by appearances: this place is a wonderful fishermen village, that found its way to balance its authenticity with tourist attractions. If you come between April and September, we can offer the possibility to go on a boat ride, in order to truly experience the stunning coastline. During the trip, it is obviously possible to stop and go for a swim in the crystal-clear water.<\/p>

Then, we will have time for an aperitivo in the town square and a relaxing walk through the colourful streets of the village. Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.<\/p>

Day 4: Ragusa and its sea<\/strong><\/p>

We will spend most part of the day enjoying the sea. First, after our breakfast, we will reach Ragusa Ibla, another baroque beauty located in a spectacular location, with a cathedral in its centre.<\/p>

We will then head to Marina di Ragusa, a seaside village that looks as if was taken directly from a movie by Federico Fellini. Pristine and with an original architecture, freed from the cement blocks of modern towns. Many scenes from the Italian TV series Il Commissario Montalbano<\/em> (Inspector Montalbano<\/em>) are set here. During our stay, we will savour a gelato in one of the legendary local ice cream shops.<\/p>

We will be hungry after our cosy stay at the beach, so we will go to the Giardino di Marco<\/em> (Marco\u2019s Garden<\/em>), where we will have our lunch amidst untouched nature. We are sure that you will return to the hotel with a great tranquillity in your soul. Overnight stay.<\/p>

Day 5: Return to Catania<\/strong><\/p>

Today we have to say good-bye to this fantastic island. If your flight is not too early, we can visit Catania before going to the airport. We will take you to the local fish market and to sightsee the architectonic beauties of this fascinating city. Transfer to Fontanarossa airport and Arrivederci Sicilia!<\/p>
